Universally hailed as the first Hip Hop movie, "Wild Style" captures New York's Hip Hop culture circa 1981 and several prominent figures including Busy Bee Starski, Fab 5 Freddy, the Cold Crush Brothers, and one of the godfathers of hip-hop, Grandmaster Flash.
In Celebration of Hip Hop Appreciation Week! Presented with Grand Rapids HipHop Coalition & The Love Movement Inc. Grand Rapids HipHop Coalition is an organization designed to support and advise budding local artists. The Love Movement Inc. is a local non-profit that focuses on youth education through HipHop arts and culture. Both groups strive to preserve the culture of HipHop and create a positive environment for the Grand Rapids HipHop community, present and future. Led by Victor Williams, who will be in attendance at this screening.
