EV Carshare Program Launched in Eastown!
MobileGR launched an EV Carshare Pilot Program in Eastown on October 17! The hub lot at 420 and 428 Ethel now has 2 plug-in electric vehicles and a dual-port charger.
To use the cars,
Download the app from the QR code on the car
Add your driver's license and a payment method on the app.
Michigan Carshare will then reach out to schedule a 30 minute phone call where they review information regarding the program (see below for the highlights from that orientation)
Once you’ve completed the orientation, Michigan Carshare will mark you as approved in the app and you can then use a car
Michigan Carshare is an app based program where vehicles are picked up and dropped off from a designated location at an hourly rate or day rate.
Rates: $5/hour and $50/day (not including taxes)
Insurance: 150 miles to start and $0.45 thereafter and a Chargepoint charging card is equipped in the vehicle; members are fully responsible for any third-party claims in the event the Carshare’s insurance coverage is invalidated due to member actions or misbehavior
Driving Range: 200-250 miles when fully charged, depending on the model
Plan Ahead: use the https://www.plugshare.com/ site or app to help plan your travel; this app/site displays all the charging stations near you so you're never left stranded
Member Service Line: please contact our Member Service line if you are experiencing trouble with the app, the vehicle will not start, a flat tire or dead battery, or to help facilitate emergency service from authorities where needed
Accidents: please dial 911; in the event of an accident, members are responsible for a minimum of $500 for the deductible
Returns: all vehicles are to be returned to its home location at the end of the reservation time; returning late with inconvenience to another member will result in a $25 inconvenience fee and possible suspension if continued
